Originally conceived of in the 1980s by earlier developers, the 38-story Metropolis Tower I, is part of the massive, four tower, Metropolis Development, which spans 6.3 acres on the northwest corner of the South Park neighborhood. The Los Angeles Department of Buildings and Safety issued a temporary certificate of occupancy Thea at the Metropolis in December, 2019 and it is expected to open in winter, 2020.
