1100 Wilshire was born as an ambitious, 37-story, office-building project in 1987 becoming the tallest building in Downtown Los Angeles west of the 110 freeways. But this area never caught on as an alternative the Bunker Hill or the Financial District and 1100 Wilshire sat nearly vacant for two decades. A partnership of Hampton Development, TMG Partners and Forest City Residential sat out to change this in 2005 when the purchased the property for $40,000,000.00 with ambitions to transform it into a premier residential property.

1100 Wilshire underwent extensive renovations between 2005 and 2006 and was reborn as a 228-unit condominium building. 1100 Wilshire now features ground floor shopping, a business center, and a top of the line gym.
